About Me
Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
"Passionate about designing structures resilient to wind and earthquake hazards."
Welcome to my personal website! I am currently a second-year PhD candidate specializing in Engineering Mechanics at Iowa State University, USA. Under the guidance of Dr. Partha Sarkar, I am conducting research at the WiST Laboratory within the Aerospace Engineering Department. My primary focus is on the wind-resistant design of structures, with the aim of mitigating damage caused by extreme wind events such as tornadoes.
Originally from India, I relocated to the US three years ago to delve into the realm of structural wind engineering at Iowa State University. Following my bachelor's degree in India in Civil Engineering, I pursued my master's studies in Structural Engineering in China, on a full scholarship where I discovered my fervor for this field and set my sights on a career therein. During my master's program, I gained valuable experience in wind tunnel testing and the design of high-rise structures with a focus on structural vibration control under seismic and wind loads using passive damping devices.
Throughout my PhD journey, I've cultivated a profound dedication to fortifying structures against wind hazards, driven by a desire to enhance their resilience in the face of disasters.
Beyond academia, I'm an enthusiastic runner who finds solace in staying active. Despite my rigorous schedule, my passion for travel endures, and I aspire to explore a new country each year. I thrive on embracing fresh experiences, immersing myself in diverse cultures, and embracing alternative perspectives.
